Dental Implants

Living with missing teeth can be difficult. Tooth loss interferes with your ability to chew and speak, and it impacts your self-confidence.

Dr. Gregory E. Anderson is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who can perform safe, precise dental implant placement.

How could your life change after dental implant surgery with Dr. Anderson in Garland or Logan, Utah?

Far-Reaching Benefits That Can Change Your Life

Regain Confidence in Your Smile

Many people who suffer tooth loss are embarrassed by gaps in their smiles, causing them to hide their teeth and avoid social situations. Dental implants restore your smile by supporting custom-made crowns, bridges, or dentures, allowing you to feel confident in your appearance.

Improve Functionality

Trying to eat and speak with missing teeth or a traditional denture can be uncomfortable and frustrating. An implant-supported crown, bridge, or denture can help you overcome these challenges, making daily activities easy and painless.

Save Money in the Long Run

While dental implants have a seemingly high up-front cost, they prevent additional tooth loss and jawbone atrophy, helping you avoid even more extensive and costly restorative care. Over a lifetime, implants minimize the need for ongoing treatment and the number of replacement prosthetics.

So how do dental implants work?

Do I qualify for dental implants?

The Dental Implant Process

Dr. Anderson uses the most advanced dental implant techniques at our high-tech offices in Logan and Garland, UT. Here's what patients can expect when they choose dental implants...

With proper care, your prosthetic can last well over a decade, and the implants can last a lifetime.
With proper care, your prosthetic can last well over a decade, and the implants can last a lifetime.

Our doctor will assess your candidacy and discuss your lifestyle, concerns, and goals. With our modern digital x-rays, we will capture precise 3-D models of your oral structures and jawbone to plan for successful implantation.

Implant Placement

We will administer an anesthetic and any necessary sedation to numb the mouth and induce a state of relaxation before surgery. Using innovative surgical guides to maximize the accuracy of implant placement, Dr. Anderson will make small incisions in your gums. He will then insert the titanium implants through the incisions and into your jawbone. Finally, he will close the incisions.

Over the next four to six months, the titanium posts will fuse with your jawbone in a process known as "osseointegration." Dr. Anderson or your primary dentist can provide temporary restorations for you to wear while you recover from implant surgery.

Abutment Placement

Once you have successfully healed, you will return to our offices in Logan or Garland for a second procedure to place abutments. Abutments act as the point of connection between the titanium posts and your future restoration, securing your prosthetic with maximum stability. After Dr. Anderson places the abutments, you will need another few weeks for your gums to heal before moving on to the final steps.

Crafting Prosthetics

After the abutments are placed, we will take impressions of your mouth for the design of your permanent restoration. We can coordinate with your primary dentist and send these impressions to a trusted dental lab where skilled technicians will craft your custom crown, bridge, or denture in the shade of your natural teeth.

Placing Restoration

Once your prosthetic is ready, you can schedule an appointment for placement with Dr. Anderson or your primary dentist. The crown, bridge, or denture will securely attach to the implant, restoring the function and appearance of your smile. With proper care, your prosthetic can last well over a decade, and the implants can last a lifetime.

The staff here are incredible. As far as health coverage is concerned, they go above and beyond to get your procedure approved. Sandra was literally on the phone with my insurance company for three straight hours. She gets it done! It's refreshing to see a medical office work so hard on behalf of their clients. I would never have been able to afford this surgery out-of-pocket. If I could give six stars, I would.

Do dental implants really work?

Dental Implants are Highly Successful  and Low-Risk

Because dental implants provide a direct connection between your jawbone and dental crowns, bridges, or dentures, they are widely considered dentistry's best option for restoring missing teeth. They are very effective, with success rates between 95 and 98 percent. The chance of complications is very low, especially if you don't have any preexisting dental conditions.

Breaking Down the Cost of Dental Implants

The cost of dental implant treatment is dependent upon several factors and can vary significantly from one case to another. In general, our fees tend to be around 30 percent less than other practices in our area. When you visit our offices in Logan or Garland, Utah, we can give you a cost breakdown and personal estimate for treatment.

Factors that can affect the cost of dental implant surgery include...

Number of Implants Needed

Obviously, the more implants you require, the more costly your treatment will be. The number and location of your missing teeth will determine how many implants you need.

Preparatory Procedures

Some adults need additional procedures in order to qualify for implants. Supplementary procedures such as tooth extractions or bone grafting will increase the overall cost of treatment.

Sedation Options

In some cases, patients may only require local anesthetic for their dental implant procedure. However, those who have trouble remaining still during long procedures or get especially nervous about dental work may benefit from sedation dentistry to ensure their comfort.

Doctor's Experience

As a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Anderson possesses a higher level of skill and technical knowledge than general dentists. Choosing Dr. Anderson greatly improves your chances of successful implant treatment.

How Long Will My Dental Implant And Restoration Last?

A dental implant is a permanent solution, and it can remain in place for your entire life.

The restoration attached to your dental implant, though, may require periodic replacement. As an example, with good care, the dental crown attached to your abutment may last 10 years before you need a new one.
